Paul Victor Currie

Paul Currie was born and still lives in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Graduated from Belfast School of Art with an Honours Degree in Vis/Com in 1998.

Worked as art director in Morgan Partnership in Glasgow 1999.

Joined Belfast circus school as teacher and performer in 2000.

Paul has carved himself a reputation since 2004 as an uncompromising alternative comedian in the UK, Ireland, Australia and Europe building up a loyal fan base with his unique style of genre breaking stand-up since The Big Tickle comedy festival in Derry City when he won the best new comer competition in 2005. Fusing traditional stand up with the energy and crowd work of his street performing background,
He has featured on BBC 3 TV comedy show “LIVE AT THE ELECTRIC”. His first solo show at Edinburgh fringe was in 2009, he then returned in 2011 as part of Avalon’s prestigious “COMEDY ZONE” a showcase that launched names like The Mighty Boosh, Stewart Lee, Lee Evans, Al Murray, Russell Howard. He won the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Comedians Choice award for BEST SHOW in 2018. Paul has performed at the Adelaide Fringe, the Melbourne Comedy Festival & Edinburgh Fringe Festivals with sell out performances and 5 star reviews.

Paul is also a Jim Henson muppeteer and has performed and voiced puppets on shows like Jim Hensons Pajanimals, Sesame Tree, Driftwood Bay, Big and Small.

Paul is also a musician and song writer and performers and tours with his band RHINOS. A two piece garage rock n roll band.

Paul is also a self taught painter and works in oils and acrylic on various sizes of canvas. He has sold his art to collectors across the globe.
