Seedhead Arts have been running Faculty Courses for many years now with Blick Studios and EastSide Arts Festival seemed like the perfect opportunity to run a series of short courses based out of the Belfast Bankers collective. We’ve curated 5 special courses for the festival with residents of the Bank. Places are limited so don’t hang around.
Beginners Street Art with Emic
Sunday 6th 10am-1pm
Belfast street artist emic will help you get to grips with aerosol paint and explore techniques like tagging, stenciling and fades. Aimed at complete beginners the group will work together to create their very own unique large-scale piece of art.
Cost includes all materials. PLEASE wear old clothes.
Street Art Portrait Masterclass with Dreph

We are delighted to welcome internationally renowned street artist Dreph back to Belfast to take part in our Hit the East programme and knowing what a great artist and teacher he is we bagged him to teach a very special Faculty masterclass for our Bankers Weekend.
Dreph has been blowing away global audiences with his portrait work over the last few years and has agreed to share his skills with members of the Faculty. This course is designed for people with a grounding in aerosol art who want to improve their skills in portraiture, it is not for beginners but the cost does include materials.
Dark Room Techniques with Neal Campbell
Sunday 6th 2-5pm
Join photographer Neal Campbell for a hands-on look at film photography and darkroom skills. Neal will discuss the fundamentals of analog photography, and then demonstrate black and white film developing and traditional wet printing.
This event will be suitable for digital photographers of all levels interested in exploring the art of film photography, or for photographers who are already shooting on film and want to learn the basics of darkroom practices.
Please feel free to bring along some black and white negatives if you have them, as there will be an opportunity for participants to make their own prints.
Experimental Screen Printing with the Journeymen Printers
Saturday 5th 10am-1pm
A short master class in experimental screen printing. In this 3hour session you will learn how to create your very own variable edition screenprint using ghost prints and hand painted under layers.
Using ready prepared screens with your own computer headed portrait stencil you will learn step by step techniques of creating ghost layers, under painting layers and the final key layer that brings the image to life.
We’ll need an image from you in advance but other than that we provide everything you need.
Do you even vlog? With Dillon Osborne

Our mindset is changing, TV has shifted from it’s traditional routes to embrace video on demand. However we as users are seeking even more personalised ways of consuming media, we want bespoke content, we want it now and we have a shorter attention span than ever.
Channels like YouTube, Instagram Stories, Snapchat and Facebook-Live have opened the doors to a world of new media. A world where we can all be creators, we can all share our ideas to the world and the world can share back. Whats stopping you?
This workshop looks at the basics of vlogging, the simple things that make a difference, how to get started and what its all about. I’ll share my insights, people to follow, kit you need plus tips & tricks for creating your content and making it special. Come along and join us for a chilled out group discussion and lets get creating.
All you need to bring is your phones or your cameras and an open mind.
How to Draw ‘Like A Virgin’; Experimental Drawing Workshop
Monday 7th 7-9pm
Drawing has been experiencing a major surge in the art world. In this sociable workshop, Sally O’Dowd will create a space to playfully explore drawing. Think gentile 1950’s armchair meets Madonna strutting her stuff in ‘Material Girl’.
Focused on observation, the session will explore a range of methods to draw, observe and create new images, on paper, using a variety of materials and tools. A workshop in which traditional drawing techniques will be layered with one line and gestural drawing.
Please wear comfortable clothing as there may be movement involved.
Beginners and experts welcome. Materials will be provided.
Capacity for all of these is 12 and age is 15+
