ANYONE CAN CYANOTYPE. THURSDAY 29th MAY
Mutual Flux
ANYONE CAN…
“You've heard of Christ, King of The Jews - but have you heard of me, Blueben, blue Reuben, King of the Blues? That's right, I'm not at the heart of any world religions but l am at the heart of a Cyanotype Workshop in the Vault - this month's edition of Anyone Can!
Once, I was very young then, I was asked "Why are you blue blue blue, Blueben? Why do you, oh blue blue Blueben, even want to run a Cyanotype Workshop in Vault's city centre space (between the hours of 6pm and 9pm on the last Thursday of the month of May (the 29th))?"
My reply, most simply and most compelling: "I'm alive. And you are too. Aren't you?" A doubter in one instant, a devout ‘Anyone Can’ attendee the next.
I’m sorry, I made that up, I thought it sounded nice, that’s all really. You should still come to the workshop, though! You are alive, aren’t you? And it’ll be good fun.
You can make a blue print of anything! Incredible! Just bring the thing! We don’t have all the things so you need to bring the things - that part’s IMPORTANT. But we’ve got the blue, and we’re having workshop stew, too. I think this will do. Very nice, indeed”.
Anyone Can… is an ongoing series of workshops running for 6 months on the last Thursday of every month, with a different theme each month. These workshops offer a space for young people over the age of 18, to meet, share, and be creative. No need to book - just turn up.
