ANYONE CAN ZINE. THURSDAY 24th MARCH
Mutual Flux
ANYONE CAN…
“For the next edition of Anyone Can… we're making zines. I have no idea how to make a zine. Is Anyone Can… built upon a lie? Some people can't. I can't. I can't zine. Orientations and pages and stuff, never mind the content. Impossible. I suppose I can try...
I mean, really, what have we sunk ourselves to? To learning new things? I’m sick of it. I’m sick of it, and I’m perfectly willing to admit it, I’m scared of it. I didn’t have to learn anything to clown. If I’m honest, I didn’t even do my own face paint, but serving as a canvas at least proved involvement. I think I wrote a poem back when we were doing that… half my life ago it feels now.
I guess I’ll have to content myself to wallow. Maybe I’m too old now; I could well be. And I suppose it won’t all be bad, what with our event being the finest gathering of young creatives in all of Belfast. And I suppose too, that our location, date, and time sound quite nice. Vault's city centre gallery between 6pm and 9pm on Thursday the 24th could be alright, I guess. In fairness to it, it might be a really great place to wallow in a lack of zine production knowledge, and I bet that if you were getting involved you’d have a good time too…”
Bring along your own special collage and drawing materials!
Anyone Can… is an ongoing series of workshops running for 6 months on the last Thursday of every month, with a different theme each month. These workshops offer a space for young people over the age of 18, to meet, share, and be creative. No need to book - just turn up.
