Copper Plate Etching Weekend Course

Learn the fundamentals of copper plate etching with Belfast print Workshop artist in residence, Wilhelmina Peace.

This 'Copper Plate Etching' course will teach students all the basic techniques necessary to create and print copper etchings. Students will learn how to create an image on a copper plate, etch the plate in acid as well as ink up and print the plate. Students will learn plate preparation, drypoint, hard ground line etching, soft ground etching, aquatint, and how to print and register to create an edition. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as seasoned printmakers who would like to deepen their knowledge of copper plate etching.

This course will run Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th May from 10am-4pm.
