J SHIELDS - my heart still beats is out now
Following the release of ‘Evergreen’ in 2024, and ‘EVERGREEN2 the remixes’ in 2025, J SHIELDS spent the latter half of last year diving into sound design, film composition and audiovisual installations, most notably ‘Static Bloom’, a week long exhibition in Vault Artist Studios debuting in October of last year. This month, J returns with his first single of 2026, ‘my heart still beats’. This lo-fi song puts plainly elements of what J has been up to since last releasing music. A minimalistic and ambient instrumental indicative of his sound design and field recording obsession in his professional life is blended with a soft vocal where J achingly describes a period of grief he experienced in his personal life in this time.
