The hard-working workers of Vault have been working hard. Hard at work, settling into our studios and labouring away behind the scenes getting our new Gallery & Project Space ready to launch with an exhibition in honour of International Workers Day.
International Workers Day stands in solidarity with the working-classes and celebrates their achievements. Vault artists celebrate our work through the exhibition Mayday Mayday which will launch in our new building on Bedford Street (opposite Weatherspoons) next Thursday 7th May.
The exhibition will feature artworks inspired by the workers and activists who came before us who fought for our rights and will reflect on the ongoing struggles to hold on to those hard won rights.
Vault's strength is often in the multidisciplinary nature of our collective, Mayday Mayday will feature artworks and items highlighting all artistic disciplines and act as a space for us to remember the collective power we have as art workers. A reminder that art is human, important and powerful. Uppa workers!
Mayday Mayday is curated by Cathy Scullion and features the work of 31 Vault member artists.
