The hard-working workers of Vault have been working hard. Hard at work, settling into our studios and labouring away behind the scenes getting our new Gallery & Project Space ready to launch with an exhibition in honour of International Workers’ Day. 

International Workers’ Day stands in solidarity with the working-classes and celebrates their achievements. Vault artists celebrate our work through the exhibition Mayday Mayday which launches in our new building on Bedford Street (opposite Wetherspoons) on Thursday 7 May (6—9pm).

The exhibition features artworks inspired by the workers and activists who came before us who fought for our rights. The show also reflects on the ongoing struggles to hold on to those hard won rights.

Vault’s strength is often found in the multidisciplinary nature of our studio group. Mayday Mayday features artworks and items highlighting all artistic disciplines and acts as a space for us to remember the collective power we have as art workers. A reminder that art is human, important and powerful. Uppa workers!
