Time of the signs: Border crossing

In 2025, artist Leo Boyd curated ‘Time of the Signs’, an exhibition of artist-made and artist-modified street signs, in London’s Atom Gallery. This October, Boyd is bringing a new version of the show to Belfast, entitled ‘Time of the Signs: Border Crossing’. 

Exploring the theme of the sign as a border, this unique exhibition will bring together over 40 artists from across the island of Ireland, as well as some selected international artists. ’Time of the Signs: Border Crossing’ will showcase new work from such artists as Spelling Mistakes Cost Lives, Laura Callaghan, rarewitch, Dr. D aka Subvertiser, KMG, Asbestos, Spicebag and Seiko Hayase. 

'Time of the Signs: Border Crossing’ will be a subversion of the semiosphere and the senses. You will never look at a street sign the same way again…

Opens Late Night Art, 1 October 2026 (6–9pm).

Continues until 12 October (daily 12–6pm).
