J SHIELDS’ studio lock-in

Artist J SHIELDS spent 12 hours a day in his studio on Bedford Street creating only new tunes, experimenting with methods of electronic music production, mixing and mastering. From this he made 3 tunes now available on Bandcamp and Soundcloud.
The first tune ‘awake beside you’ uses only samples of J’s voice, manipulated with ableton sampler and simplers. The second ‘hit pause’ was made entirely on one synth, and the third ‘the singing wren’ was made using a cassette by studio mate Cameron Clarke ‘music for an abandoned harmonium’, layered together with field recordings of wrens and other birds.
